What is the Glucose test?

The Glucose challenge test is used to screen all pregnant individuals between 24-28 weeks of pregnancy for gestational diabetes and to see how their bodies are handling sugars.

How does the glucose test work?

Your care provider will ask you to drink a glucose drink and the test will be taken about one hour after ingestion. If your levels are high you will be asked to fast for one morning and the test will be repeated before and after you ingest the glucose drink. Depending on how high your glucose values are, you may be diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes.
