Do I need a breast or chest pump?

Sometimes a pump can be useful for storing and freezing extra milk for others to feed baby. You might need a pump if baby has a poor latch, you need to be away from your baby, your nipples need a break from feeding, or you want someone else to feed the baby while you rest.

Tips:

  • Ask an experienced parent to show you how to use one or if they have recommendations
  • Check if your benefits cover a breast or chest pump
