What to expect in the first week with my newborn?

What to expect:

Newborn babies will spend most of their time sleeping and eating. Their wake windows are very short and most of that time will be spent on feeding and on newborn care. It is normal for babies to want to be held and to sleep best in your arms. Follow safe sleep guidelines and do not worry about spoiling your baby - this is impossible!

Caring for yourself:

Remember to go easy on yourself as you recover from childbirth. It is normal to feel a wide range of emotions during this time as you adjust to a new chapter of parenthood.
