When is it safe for me to have sex again postpartum?

Sex postpartum

Most care providers recommend birthing parents wait around four to six weeks before resuming sexual intercourse however this may this may differ depending on your birth and the speed of your recovery.

It is normal to feel disinterested in sex right after giving birth due to the physical discomfort, fatigue and the demands of baby care. There are many other ways of being intimate with your partner. Be sure to talk through any of your concerns with your partner or with your care provider.
