What is baby-led weaning?

Baby-led weaning

Baby-led weaning is a way of introducing solid foods to your baby where they feed themselves large pieces of soft food as opposed to being spoon fed purees. Your baby can eat the same foods as the family at the same mealtimes. Babies are in control of how much or how little food they eat, which can teach them more about following their own hunger cues versus the possibility of being overfed. Baby-led weaning is done in conjunction with breastfeeding/chestfeeding or formula feeding until at least age 1.
