How do I support my wife/partner after they give birth?

Be patient. Childbirth is a major physical and emotional event and your partner may be feeling overwhelmed or touched out. Intimacy can be shown in other ways and will return more significantly as you both adjust to parenthood.

How can I help?

  • Preparing meals

  • Bringing your partner snacks (even feeding them while they feed baby!)

  • Changing diapers

  • Doing laundry

  • keeping on top of dishes/bottles

  • Ensuring you both get rest by offering to take the baby while your partner naps or even for a portion of the night. You will both benefit from at least a few hours of consolidated sleep
