What and how should I share the news of my loss with family or friends? What are some common reactions to loss that I should be prepared for?

Sharing the news of your loss can be challenging.

Turning off your phone notifications can be a helpful way to process your own immediate couple/family's grief before dealing with questions from others.

You can designate someone to help share the news if it is overwhelming to you. Others prefer a social media post. Some prefer to share their feelings through written word. Some prefer not to share at all if early in the pregnancy journey, while others feel better learning others have been through the same when sharing their loss.

It is beneficial to prepare for the reactions of others so that you don't feel overwhelmed in the moment. Many people do not know what to say or how to express their feelings for you. Let them know if you want them to check in on you in a few days or weeks.
